Pumpkin cheese pie
An amazing pie with pumpkin, Horio feta cheese Mountain Regions and sauteed onions. A recipe by Dimitris Skarmoutsos.

Pumpkin cheese pie

INGREDIENTS For the filling

1 1/2 kilo pumpkin 2 onions ½ kilo Horio feta cheese Mountain Regions 2-3 eggs

INGREDIENTS For the dough

1 c Horio Mountain Regions olive oil flour 2 eggs salt 1 c milk 1 tsp baking powder

DIRECTIONS

  1. Sauté pumpkin and onions in a pot until soft.
  2. Put sautéed pumpkin and onions in a bowl with Horio feta cheese Mountain Regions and eggs and slightly mix.
  3. In another bowl put all dough ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. Roll dough on a floured surface and divide in two parts.
  5. Oil a baking sheet. Knead and roll dough and then apply it on baking sheet.
  6. With a spatula, spread the filling on dough and cover with the rest of dough.
  7. Bake in preheated oven at 190C until brown, for approximately 1 hour.
